Introduction of Plastic Drainage Strip (Board)
Plastic drainage board is a shortened form of SPB-A, B, C geo-polymer drainage board. Being a new material for reinforcing soft soil and ultra-soft foundation, its principle, design and construction equipment in reinforcing soft soil foundation is near the same as sand bag well
Drainage board is strip compound structure. It has plastic board core for extrusion molding in the middle which is the framework and passage for drainage trip. Its section is parallel reticule which is composed of 34 (33) studs and 33 (32) grooves. It is 100 mm wide and 3.5-6.0 mm thick. The center board is wrapped with complex fibre non-woven fabric which can separate soil and filter membrane.
According to the different insertion depth to the soft foundation, there are three models (A, B, C). Its main advantages in soft foundation drainage are as follows:
1Good drainability and smooth drainage can ensure good drainage effect.
2 Material has certain intensity and extensibility and has strong ability in adapting foundation deformation, while it does not affect the performance of drainage.
3Drainage board has small section. It has little effect on foundation while being inserted.
4Plug-board construction can be carried out on the ultra-soft clay layer (such as new hydraulic fill earth base).
5 Construction is fast, labor intensity is low for workers, and cost is lower than sand bag well, being the ideal drainage consolidation material for soft foundation consolidation work.
